The new positions at Middle Tennessee State University are open, and offered in conjunction with our new Ed.D. Program in Assessment, Learning, and School Improvement. College of Education, Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track 


COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY


Position: Responsibilities include teaching courses in the Ed.D. Program, as well as other courses as needed, and serving on doctoral committees. The Ed.D. Program provides courses in a cohort format that meet on Friday evenings and Saturdays. Additionally, the candidate selected for this position will be expected to engage in research and public service initiatives. Specifically, this position requires assisting area school districts in school improvement efforts. Faculty members are expected to actively participate in university, college and departmental activities. Excellence in teaching, research/creative activity and service is expected for all positions. MTSU seeks candidates committed to using integrative technologies in teaching.


Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree with a record of university teaching at the graduate level required. Candidates must possess a record of scholarly research and meet Middle Tennessee State University Graduate Council standards for teaching doctoral level courses. Candidates must also provide evidence of successful experience teaching and leading in K-12 public school settings.


Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who have a demonstrated record of teaching graduate level courses and/or practical experience in areas such as cognitive learning theory, instructional design and improvement, collaborative teaming, highly effective schools, effective teaching research, and school improvement. Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully directed doctoral dissertations through completion and graduation of doctoral candidates. Preference will be given to candidates who meet the Middle Tennessee State University Graduate Council standards for Regular Graduate Faculty status, and who can become eligible for chairing doctoral dissertations. Preference will also be given to candidates who provide evidence of successfully assisting school districts and schools in improving student achievement.


Salary and Rank: Rank and salary commensurate with education and experience.


Appointment: Full time tenure-track appointment beginning August 1, 2014
