The May 1 and May 2 inaugural conference of the Action Research Network of the Americas (ARNA) is taking shape as a don’t-miss event for action researchers and supporters of action research in the Western Hemisphere and from around the world. The bilingual (English and Spanish) gathering will take place at San Francisco’s historic Fort Mason Center, a magnificent venue in the heart of a great city with an exciting and diverse assembly of culture, arts, and educational organizations. Fort Mason Center is a part of The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, one of the largest and most popular urban national parks in the world and only 13 minutes from Union Square, the central point for this year’s AERA Conference. Fort Mason is also only 2 miles from Fisherman’s Wharf and the Embarcadero.
ARNA’s inaugural conference will explore the invention and re-invention of knowledge in action research contexts across the Americas and around the world. Breakout sessions, roundtables, workshops, poster sessions and plenaries will follow a keynote address by internationally acclaimed action research writer Jean McNiff. Conference registration includes access to all conference events, continental breakfast on May 2, and opening and closing Conference receptions. The registration fee is $100 for professionals and $50 for students. Some scholarship assistance is available. Registration is limited, so be sure to register early. Registration will be available beginning February 4th.
