Fifth International Conference on Value and Virtue in Practice-Based Research
The Significance of Our Research: Influence and Impact
Tuesday 9 June and Wednesday 10 June 2015
York St John University, UK

Dear colleagues,

Here is a reminder to send in an abstract for the Value and Virtue in Practice-Based Research by 2nd March to valueandvirtue@yorksj.ac.uk. If you would like to chat informally about your abstract, please drop me a line and I will be glad to respond. Abstracts should be about 300 words in length, and should address the conference theme of 'The Significance of Our Research: Influence and Impact'. Please see attached the conference flyer – it would be good if you could please distribute to your own networks and encourage colleagues to get involved.

Also to note that we are serious about encouraging research outputs from the conference, and will do our best to support if you wish to publish. You can access the 2013 conference proceedings as an ebook from http://www.september-books.com/valueandvirtue.asp  I will leave this on my website as a free download. Printed copies are also available for a small fee – details available if you write to me.

We have also produced a Special Issue on 'Values and Virtue in Practice-Based Research' for the Educational Action Research Journal, currently published online, with the editorial available for access at http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/09650792.2014.994341#abstract

A book is also forthcoming, to be published by Routledge in 2016, titled 'Values andVirtues in Higher Education Research: Critical issues'.

It is very exciting that these scholarly texts are coming out of what began as an idea for an informal seminar and blossomed into a world-wide initiative. It is not difficult to become part of it – just drop us a line today!

All good wishes,

Jean McNiff
